Lunch for Mark

We went out for lunch as Skye to celebrate the end of Mark's 6 years (minus a small break) as department head. He and I met with Wes and Rae earlier in the day to talk about some department stuff.
This evening we attended a Saskatchewan Writers Guild event where four "apprentice" writers who have been working with four veteran writers each read a few pages from their works in progress. Barbara has been working on a fantasy novel with Ed Willett's help. Iryn Tushabe, who studied film and then journalism at UofR, read a very funny and interesting beginning of her own book. Margaret and I won the two door prizes.
