Turtle Island Performance festival begins

After our department meeting, I rushed over to the opening events of the Turtle Island Performance festival/conference where Dianne Ouellette had curated a very thoughtful selection of films; work by Candy Fox, Peter Brass, Janine Windolph, Trudy Stewart, and Tasha Hubbard, This was followed by a performance by Kevin McKenzie. Good crowd (about 75). The student gallery isn't too good for films (the sound echoed a lot) but the performance was well suited as it made good use of the open space, the darkness, strobe lights onto the white walls, and with the audience at the same level as the performer.
