While we got a relatively early start, it was all for naught since we hit an "expect delays" area of the highway between Golden and Revelstoke. What this meant was that we'd be parked on a stretch of the highway with no services, no bathroom, and only minimal cell coverage for six hours in 35 degree heat. Once we got going again, it was 8 pm and there were no hotels so we pushed it (fueled by a full sugar Coke with vanilla coffee) all the way to Penticton and arrived at my sister's at 2am. Met some nice people though.
