A couple days ago our fish tank filter stopped working. We used a bubbler since then to keep the water airated, but today I pulled the pump/filter out and explored it. I was going to go shopping but decided to try to clean it first. Eventually I got it working but also discovered that one of the filters was supposed to be changed every month and I've never changed it. A trip to the pet store where I bought it revealed that they don't sell those filters, but gave me components to jerry rig one.
