Stereo working

I got a record player working a few days ago but now, after at least two years (probably 3, maybe 4) I have the living room speakers wired into my "new" amplifier and I can play records in the living room while listening to the tv in the tv room, through the same machine. I knew it did this but he instructions were oblique. Trial and errror. Trial and error.
