Gif of Jon Cates quoting himself at University of Regina |
I had not anticipated the scheduling of an interesting art for lunch coinciding with my experimental filmmaking class today. I had to rush my material and then took the class to hear Chicago's Jon Cates who talked, quite relevantly, about glitch-based media art. I was particularly delighted to hear him say that the likes making animated GIFs because doing so makes him happy. I've recently found the same feeling from creating
stitched photos.
