Last fire of summer?

With the temperature hitting 28 degrees today, we sparked up the fire pit this evening and hosted a last minute backyard party. Allan and Jana were here as well as Paul (arrived just after dark so are not pictured above), and Terry and Xander arrived, recovering from pain. The birch wood we had burned so hot that when our Jiffy Pop broke open shortly after it got started, it literally caught on fire.
