Dream of Flatbed replacement

I had a very vivid dream where I realized that if I cut a hole into one of our 10 inch cork pads and put a sphere on top of it and wound film around it, I could use it to effortlessly replace a film flatbed. I woke up, drew a picture, but have not yet figured out how to do it.
