An early comic by Jodorowsky |
Wow! Had great time watching the documentary "Jodorowsky's Dune" at the RPL last night. The film is about the failed attempt for this radical filmmaker to create an amazing film version of Dune in the mid-70s. While I found many surprises throughout the film (people he connected with and connected to each other), perhaps the biggest surprise was the tone of the ending. I went into it expecting it to be a real downer. Knowing that the project never happened, the audience watches hope building which will inevitably be shattered. However, Jodorowsky himself concludes with a very inspiring speech about saying yes to failure and challenging everyone to be as ambitious as they can, to dream big.
