One thing I wanted to sell at mom's garage sale were my old speakers. I bought them from Grant's brother in 1981 and they've always sounded great. I've not really used them much in the past couple of years and when I have, I've not made good use of the volume they were capable of. When the first buyer took a look, it seemed that they have outlived their prime. The surfaces have dried out so much from age that I suspect the journey to the sale pushed them over the edge and they were ruptured. I took them out of the sale and have disassembled them for their magnets.
