Douglas Morton painting at RPL comes down for restoration

This morning the Douglas Morton painting which has hung in the entrance way of the downtown Regina Public Library since 1967 came down for the first time. It will be going back up after a bit of cleaning and the wall is repainted. Margaret was brought in as one of the 8 person team to unbolt it and lower it down carefully. It was rolled in plastic and transported to the MacKenzie for cleaning. I dropped by to snap a few pictures but got recruited in to document the process. It will be very strange to have this missing from that space.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT...A GREAT MAN, A GREAT PAINTER, AND A REAL CONTRIBUTOR TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TH ARTS THROUGH HIS TEACHING. XX IT IS A LOVELY SYMBOL OF FREEDOM AND DISCOVERY AS WE ENTER THE LIBRARY..A Place of discovery.
